This tour covers the counties of Mourão, Moura and Barrancos, an area which is classified by Natura 2000 as a special protection area for birds, which is characterised by open areas with cereal crops, permanent pastures, holm and cork oak forests and a low density of human habitation.
The area features beautiful scenery with a diversity of spectacular birds including black stork, black-shouldered kite, black vulture, kites, Montagu’s harrier, short-toed eagle, common crane, both little and great bustard, and stone curlew.
